Gayani Jayathilake
loves taking long hikes through picturesque landscape, talking to trees along the way, boasting about the mileage and adventures afterwards, reading books and having tea parties with her characters who visit every now and then to tell her their tales when they are not busy roaming about.

Gayani is a Sri Lankan writer living with her husband, curry leaf plant and a blackbird she would like to call family because it eats out of her plant beds and messes up clean corners like it owns the place. She is the author of the novel, When August Comes. She committed the unspeakable by not waiting around till her first novel, was published to begin her second novel. To make matters worse she began a short story collection because she is easily interested by the chaos around.
